Artboard Auto-Switch

In this article, we will focus on one of the most crucial features of KappaX, the Auto-Switch feature. With Auto-Switch, we will show you how to use this feature to provide the best user experience across all devices.

Enable Auto-Switch

The first step to enabling Auto-Switch is to create multiple layouts for your project. Having multiple layouts allows you to have different designs and content for each layout. To know how to create multiple layouts, follow this link.

Once you have created multiple layouts, you can enable Auto-Switch functionality from the Artboard's property panel. By default, Auto-Switch is disabled, so you must enable it manually.

Pro Tip

By enabling the Auto-Switch functionality, you ensure that the user gets a flawless experience if they switch between different aspect ratios.

Add Actions

Once you've enabled Auto-Switch, you can add actions under the ‘Artboard Layout Switch’ event to ensure a smooth transition between layouts. For example, if you want to play videos continuously when the layout is switched, you can simply write “Play video1” and “Play video2” under this event.

You can also use this feature to add animations or other actions that should occur when the layout is switched. The possibilities are endless, so feel free to get creative!

Preview the Project

After you've added your actions, it's time to preview your project to see the Auto-Switch feature in action. Rotate your device, and you'll notice that the layout switches smoothly, with all the actions you added taking place seamlessly.
